Hall of Honour Inductee: Mike (Bingo) Beck

Mike is considered by many to be one of the most consistent, durable and successful players to play in this Province. With over 12 Provincial and 6 National titles to his and his team’s credit it is no surprise that Mike is still going strong today at the senior’s level that SPN affords players.

Mike began playing slopitch in 1979 with Howard Insurance of the Burnaby league following his job transfer from Ontario. In 1982 Mike joined the Burnaby Batts and they became the first team from BC to capture a Canadian title in slo-pitch.  Mike was also named the MVP of the tournament.

Mike has played on many successful slo-pitch teams throughout his career.  Some of the teams who Mike has had the pleasure to play for are Burnaby Batts, Freigtliner Eagles, (Mens A), and the following in the Masters/ Seniors category are Spitz, Toasters, and the Burnaby Barons. Sometimes it is just not the ball, but the many hours spent telling and listening to stories over some beverages with players that makes this all worth-while.

Mike is quick to credit all his team mates and his friends for his success. SPN is proud to recognize Mike for his contribution to the game.
