BRITISH COLUMBIA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS POLICY

• Any teams dropping out of the championship within one week of the tournament shall forfeit their entry fee. Tournament information and draw will be posted on the regional page of the SPN website ( www.slo-pitch.com ).

• Time limit for all games except the final game.

After 1 hour and 5 minutes has been completed, the umpire will announce to both teams “time has expired”. Both teams will complete the inning in progress and play one more open inning. It is recommended for both teams to write down the start times on the scoresheet. The umpire should give both teams the official start time at the beginning of the game.

• Players must refrain from all infield and outfield warmups of batting fielding practice on the field of play before and between games. Playing catch on the outfield portion of the filled of play is an acceptable warm-up.

• All teams must hand in their scoresheets properly filled out to SPN headquarters. If there is a discrepancy in the final score, the home team will be the official scorekeeper.

• All game will be played rain or shine.

• A hit and sit rule will be applied, if a player hits a homerun over the fence, they do not have to touch first base and any baserunners do not have to advance to the next base.

B.C. “9” Rule (Men’s/Master’s/Women’s/Seniors)

• A team will legally be allowed to start a game with nine (9) players from the official start time of the game. The same team is not allowed to add a tenth player to the batting order at any time for the balance of the game.

• The team who starts game with (9) players must finish the game with the nine (9) players.

• Any player who is listed on the line-up card as a substitute may enter the game only as a substitute player.

B.C. “9” Rule: (Coed) 6 & 4

• A team may start a game with a minimum of 9 players of which a minimum 3 must be female.

• If a team has only 9 players: the tenth position in the batting order becomes an automatic out.

• If a team has only 3 females in the line-up the automatic out will be the tenth position in the batting order which follows a male batter. The ninth batter a male will be awarded first and second if he takes a walk. The next batter will be an automatic out. In this instance it will appear that 2 males will bat back to back.

• If a team starts with 9 players and a player arrives late, that player may enter the game immediately and must occupy the last position in the batting order provided the team has not cycled through the batting order yet. If the player does not arrive by the time the position in the batting order is scheduled
