Is 34 the new 24?

Ontario Region Teams – Check out our Masters and Seniors Programs coming this season
Our membership statistics show us that the greatest number of participants this year at the 34 and 35 year olds! Where has the time gone! Most of our members this age have been playing the game since they turned 18 or were reintroduced to the sport in their early twenties. As you head towards masters eligible ages (35 and 50) we thought it might be good to know (and clear up any fallacies) some facts about our Masters & Seniors Programs.
Fact 1. (Maybe the most important)
When you turn 35 or 50 – you do not lose the player ranking from your Mens or Womens or Coed years of playing. Eg. If you played Mens B and that’s your highest level, it’s still your highest level when you turn 35.
Fact 2.
Masters and Seniors categories offer players and teams the opportunity to play competitively in local tournaments as well as Provincial and National Championships.
Fact 3.
The Ontario Provincial Championships Masters & Seniors Championships take place in Niagara Falls from August 24 – 26th. There are over 10 divisions offered at this event with over 100 teams participating from across Ontario.
Fact 4.
If your men’s or women’s teams have qualified in a regular men’s or women’s division, and everyone on your team meets the age criteria – you can play both the regular division as well as the Masters or Seniors divisions at the Championships, you do not have to qualify twice! You can use the same qualifiers for both teams.
Fact 5.
To be eligible for +35 or +50 divisions – you must turn that age by the end of the calendar year. If you turn 35 on December 31st – great news – you are eligible to play, and you are the youngest on the team! Fact 6 New for 2018 – At this year’s provincial championships we will be offering a Womens +50 division on the Seniors and Masters Weekend, and on the Coed Weekend (Sept long weekend) we will be introducing a +45 division.
Teams are invited to apply into these divisions and do not have to qualify to play in this event.
